In a significant development, the Odisha government has expressed concern over the functioning of government ITIs and has decided to conduct monthly reviews of their performance.
As per the directive, a review meeting will be held on the second Tuesday of every month.
The reviews will focus on key aspects such as student attendance, infrastructure, placements, and overall management of government ITIs.
In this regard, the Skill Development and Technical Education Department has issued instructions to the principals of all the government ITIs to ensure compliance and active participation in the monthly review process.

"The Department has prioritised the improvement/enhancement of the Govt ITIs. To maintain this momentum, a comprehensive monthly review is essential to identify and resolve bottlenecks in training delivery and institutional infrastructure. The scope of the review shall include, but is not limited to- Enrollment & Retention, Training Infrastructure, Placement Performance, Manpower Status, Overall management of Institutions and any other matter with the permission of the Chair," read the notification issued by the Skill Development and Technical Education Department.
"Therefore, it has been decided that a Review Meeting will be held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 11:00 AM. The specific mode of the meeting (Virtual or Physical) and any change to the aforementioned matter will be communicated in advance via the official WhatsApp group," it added.
