The Minister stated that this decision comes after the Central Government stopped the e-KYC process. Currently, around 15.67 lakh beneficiaries in the state have yet to complete their e-KYC. Although they are still receiving rice at present, the distribution will be stopped from next month for those who fail to complete the process.

Minister Patra clarified that if the Central Government extends the e-KYC deadline, the state government will also extend the same. Beneficiaries who are left out may submit a written appeal for consideration.

He further stated that in some districts, beneficiaries have already received an additional five kilograms of rice, and the government is now considering extending this benefit to other districts as well, the Minister added.

"Centre has stopped the e-KYC process. Those who have not completed their e-KYC verification will not receive rice. We extended the e-KYC deadline for a long time, and it continued for seven to eight months. It will not be extended further. Beneficiaries who are left out may submit a written appeal for consideration," said Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra.
