Odisha strengthens aviation, drone ecosystem by signing two MoUs at Wings India 2026
Odisha is emerging as a key hub for aviation and drone technology with the signing of two landmark Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) in the civil aviation sector at Wings India 2026 event in Hyderabad.
The MoUs reflect the state government’s commitment to skill development, innovation, and employment generation for the youth of Odisha.
Under the agreements, a Flying Training Organization will be established at Dandbose Airport in Mayurbhanj district. The facility will train 50 commercial pilots every year, opening new career opportunities for youth in the fast-growing aviation sector.
In another significant development, Odisha’s first UAV (drone) Training and Testing Centre will be set up at the Rangeilunda Airstrip in Ganjam district. The centre will train more than 100 UAV pilots annually. The initiative aims to support the use of drone technology in sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, logistics, and disaster management.
These initiatives are expected to strengthen Odisha’s aviation ecosystem and equip the state’s youth with future-ready skills. By focusing on advanced technologies and skill-based training, Odisha is positioning itself as a contributor to India’s emerging technology-driven economy.
