Rayagada witnessed a horrifying incident on school premises after a student allegedly poured thinner on fellow students and set them on fire, leaving four minors critically injured. The shocking incident occurred at Paika Dakulaguda High School under Muniguda block of Rayagada district.

According to preliminary information, the accused student allegedly attacked three students studying in Class VII, along with another student, by dousing them with thinner and setting them ablaze.

Negligence By School Management

As of now, the motive behind the incident remains unclear. It is yet to be established why the student resorted to such an extreme act, how he managed to procure thinner, and under what circumstances the incident took place inside the school campus. Investigators are probing whether there was any prior dispute, negligence, or lapse in security that allowed a hazardous substance to be brought into the school.

The role of school management and adherence to safety norms are also under scrutiny. Meanwhile, the district administration has assured strict action against those found responsible and extended support to the injured students’ families.
