Odisha’s per capita income has recorded a higher growth rate than the national average in 2025–26, reflecting an overall expansion in the state’s economy during the year.

Official estimates indicate that the state’s per capita income increased by 9.2 per cent to reach Rs 1,86,761.

During the same period, the all-India per capita income growth stood at 6.9 per cent, while Odisha registered a comparatively stronger growth rate of 9.2 per cent. The figures place the state above the national average in terms of income growth for the financial year 2025–26.

Agriculture Sectors Record Higher Growth

The contribution of agriculture and allied sectors to the state economy remained higher than the national average. In 2025–26, the agriculture and allied sectors in Odisha registered a growth rate of 5.3 per cent. At the all-India level, the corresponding growth rate in these sectors was 3.1 per cent.

The higher growth in agriculture and allied activities indicates a relatively stronger performance of the primary sector in the state compared to the national trend during the same period.

State Economy Estimated At Rs 9.9 Lakh Crore

At current prices, the size of Odisha’s economy, measured in terms of Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), is estimated to reach Rs 9.9 lakh crore in 2025–26. The estimate reflects the overall expansion of economic activity in the state.
