“How many industrialists had shown interest in setting up industries in our State, during the last ‘Utkarsh Odisha’ conclave? How many MoUs were signed? How many industrial houses have come forward and started the work, so far?” the BJD MLA asked.

Responding to questions on the scale of investments received, the Industry Minister stated that Odisha had received 593 investment proposals amounting to Rs 16.73 lakh crore. These proposals span multiple sectors, including manufacturing, infrastructure, and emerging technologies.

The Minister further informed that in the past nine months, work has already begun on 85 projects, representing a cumulative investment of Rs 2.04 lakh crore. He described this as a strong indicator that investor interest is translating into on-ground action at a rapid pace.

“We had received investment intents of around Rs 16.73 lakh crore, and out of which, 593 MoUs worth around Rs 13 lakh crore were inked during the conclave. We have conducted the groundbreaking and inauguration of nearly 85 industrial units with an investment of Rs 2.04 lakh crore during the last nine months,” the Industry Minister expressed.

“We have been successful in bringing in youth-centric and new-age industries apart from the traditional ones,” Industry Minister Swain added while briefing in the House.
