Odisha govt re-appoints Chandra Sekhar Padhi as OSD-Cum-EIC of Water Resources department

The Odisha government has once again entrusted Chandra Sekhar Padhi, the engineer-in-chief of the Water Resources Department, with the responsibility of Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the department.

A government notification issued by the Water Resources Department confirmed Padhi’s reappointment as OSD, highlighting the administration’s confidence in his expertise and leadership. 

“In partial modification to this Department Notification No.17920/WR dated.03.07.2025, Sri Chandra Sekhar Padhi, Retf EIC, WR is hereby ‘re-employed’ instead of ‘re-engaged’ as OSD-Cum-EIC, WR as per the provision contained in GA&PG Department Resolution No. 26993/Gen dated 12.09.2024 for a period of 6 months with effect from the date of his joining, i.e. 03.07.2025 (A.M). Consequent upon re-employment of Padhi, his pay will be fixed as per Rule 89 of OCS (Pension) Rule, 1992,” the notification issued by the Water Resources department read.

Previously, the state government had extended Padhi’s tenure in the department, recognising his contribution to various ongoing projects and initiatives in the water resources sector.

Officials said Padhi’s role as OSD will involve overseeing key departmental operations, coordinating between various wings, and ensuring the timely execution of projects related to irrigation, water management, and river conservation.
