The Odisha government on Sunday disbursed the fourth instalment of the Subhadra Yojana, transferring more than Rs 5,000 crore directly to the bank accounts of over 1.02 crore women beneficiaries across the state.

The funds were credited through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system on the occasion of International Women’s Day, marking another phase in the state government’s flagship scheme aimed at strengthening women’s financial independence.

Officials said the disbursement is expected to support household finances and further promote women’s empowerment across Odisha.

New Beneficiaries Added

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida said 2,13,198 new beneficiaries have been added to the scheme in this phase.

Of them, 36,385 women were included through the grievance redressal process, she said.

The newly added beneficiaries also include young women who recently turned 21 years of age and are receiving their first instalment under the scheme. These beneficiaries are categorised as “Yuva Subhadra.”

Dynamic Beneficiary List

The Deputy Chief Minister said the Subhadra Yojana beneficiary list will remain dynamic and will be updated periodically.

Women will be added to the list after attaining the age of 21, while beneficiaries who cross 60 years will be shifted from the Subhadra scheme to pension lists under other social welfare programmes of the state government.

Officials said the system is designed to ensure that financial assistance remains targeted and continues to benefit eligible women across the state.
