According to official sources, the revised allocation will result in higher government spending on uniforms and footwear, enabling Anganwadi children to receive more durable and comfortable clothing. The enhancement has been introduced in view of rising costs and the need to maintain quality standards for children’s apparel.

As per the revised rates, the allocation for boys’ uniforms has been increased from Rs 100 to Rs 175, while the amount earmarked for girls’ uniforms has been raised from Rs 150 to Rs 250. The allocation for footwear has also been enhanced, with the cost of shoes increased from Rs 100 to Rs 150 per child.
