Bhubaneswar: Odisha Culture department today announced the State Film Awards for 2017. Ravi Shankar Patnaik will receive the prestigious ‘Jayadev’ puraskar for his contribution to Odia film industry in editing. This is for the first time that the jury has decided to honour and bring the people who always behind the scenes to the limelight.

Tarang’s ‘Nua Bohu’ was adjudged the best tele serial in the 6th Tele awards which were also announced today. Besides, Nua Bohu also won in four different categories- Jagjit Pal best actor, Mrutyunjay Kar best supporting actor in negative role, Mitali Sargharia best actress & Sonali Srivastav best story writer.

Sambit Mohanty will receive the best director award for the Odia film ‘Hello Arsi’. Parthasarathi Ray will get the best actor and Sanmira Nagesh has won the best actress awards for Hello Arsi, informed Manoranjan Panigrahi, secretary Culture department at a presser today.
