In her complaint, the victim alleged that the accused individuals have been subjecting her to continuous mental torture. She further alleged that a few staff members even went to her rented house and attempted to assault her.

After receiving no satisfactory response despite reporting the matter to the Excise Superintendent and senior officials, she approached the local police station and filed a written complaint.

“I was threatened withdrawal of the complaint against Biswajit Sahoo. When I denied, they threatened to suspend me. Later, they even assaulted me. I have lodged an FIR in this regard and under severe mental stress,” the constable alleged.

However, the Excise Superintendent denied the allegations, terming them baseless. He stated that the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) had already visited the constable’s residence for inquiry, and a formal investigation is underway. Once the committee submits its report, the truth will be clear, the Superintendent said.

“The constable levelled sexual harassment case against one Biswajit Sahoo, posted at the district office. Sahoo worked here for 14 years as a Data Entry Operator. The complainant demanded an ICC inquiry into the matter. The matter is under investigation,” said Dibya Kishore Tandel, Jajpur Excise Superintendent.
