The Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) on Saturday witnessed notable participation this year as prominent political families in the district joined aspiring teachers at the examination centers.
Chaiti Gond, wife of School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond, appeared for OTET at Saraswati Shishu Mandir in Nuagada, following the government’s mandate, making the test compulsory for all aspiring teachers.
A teacher at UV-3 School in Dangriguda, Umerkote Block of Nabarangpur district, Chaiti Gond attended the exam like any regular candidate, adhering to the prescribed guidelines. Speaking after the test, she expressed confidence about her performance and optimism about clearing the exam successfully.

“I just appeared for the OTET (Odisha Teacher’s Eligibility Test). The second paper was from 2-4:30 pm. The examination went well, and I’m hopeful that I have done well. The examination also concluded well,” informed Chaiti Gond, wife of the Education Minister.
Alongside her, Taruni Majhi, wife of Nabarangpur MLA Gaurishankar Majhi, also appeared for OTET at RCD School, reinforcing the importance of the eligibility test in shaping the state’s teaching workforce.
The participation of these prominent figures highlights the OTET’s significance and serves as an encouragement to aspiring teachers across the district. Officials confirmed that the exam proceeded smoothly, with candidates strictly following the rules and protocols.
