Cuttack: As Odisha continues to grapple with rising Coronavirus cases, a doctor from the Cuttack district has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19.

The doctor engaged at the District headquarters hospital, which is popularly known as the City Hospital, has been admitted to the Ashwini COVID Hospital in Cuttack after his tests came out positive, informed sources from the Cuttack Municipal Corporation.

Sources said that the doctor had recently visited Kendrapara to bring back his wife, who will also undergo COVID-19 testing.

Meanwhile, the district administration has constituted a team to carry out contact tracing.

Earlier today, 16 positive cases were reported in the district of which four were from the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC).

Out of the four positives, three have travel history to Dubai, the doctor has recently returned from Kendrapara, informed CMC.

As many as 75 COVID-19 positive cases have been reported from Cuttack so far. Of the total cases, 10 patients have recovered so far while one death has been reported.
