Odisha CM unveils, lays foundation for Rs 1,362 crore projects at Dhanu Yatra in Bargarh Photograph: (OTV)
Bargarh received a major development boost on Tuesday as Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi unveiled and laid foundation stones for 123 projects worth Rs 1,362 crore at the Rangamahal stage of the Dhanu Yatra.
Of the total projects, foundation stones were laid for 85 projects involving an investment of Rs 980.58 crore, while 38 completed projects worth Rs 382.26 crore were inaugurated. The initiatives are aimed at strengthening infrastructure and accelerating overall development in the district.
Among the key projects announced was the construction of a permanent Rangamahal stage, along with an anicut across the Jira river. The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for a dedicated Rangamahal stage, to be built at a cost of Rs 12.80 crore. An in-stream reservoir on the Jira river will also be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 114.87 crore.
In addition, the Chief Minister announced four new projects worth Rs 380 crore for Bargarh district. These include the construction of a sewage treatment plant on the Jira river, development of a vending zone at Hatpada, construction of an Atal Bus Stand at Bargarh Sadar, and an in-stream reservoir at Grindola.

The announcements, made from the Dhanu Yatra stage, were welcomed by residents, who see them as significant steps towards improved civic amenities, water management and urban infrastructure in the district.
