Chief Minister Mohan Majhi is set to visit Balasore district on November 13 to take part in the grand ‘Ekta Marathon’, being organised to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India.

According to official sources, the Chief Minister will join the unity run that will begin from Nilagiri and conclude at Mitrapur. The marathon, themed around national unity, integrity, and brotherhood, aims to inspire collective pride in the nation’s diversity while celebrating Sardar Patel’s monumental role in uniting India. The event is expected to draw massive public participation, with thousands of students, youth groups, and local residents gearing up to take part.

Following the flagship event at Nilagiri, similar unity runs will also be organised at Bhograi and Balasore town on the same day. These district-wide events seek to spread the message of solidarity, peace, and togetherness among citizens, reinforcing the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.’

Addressing a press conference, Balasore MP Pratap Sarangi shared details of the programme and underlined its symbolic importance in strengthening social harmony. The district administration, local leaders, and youth organisations are leaving no stone unturned to ensure the marathon’s smooth conduct and grand success. Preparations are already in full swing with elaborate arrangements for security, logistics, and public participation.
