Odisha CM Mohan Majhi conducts surprise inspection at Rajiv Bhawan

OdishaChief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday paid a surprise visit to Rajiv Bhawan in Bhubaneswar to assess the functioning, efficiency, and attendance of government officials. The unannounced inspection aimed to evaluate departmental performance and ensure that officers were adhering to work schedules and responsibilities.

According to reports, the Chief Minister was accompanied by the Development Commissioner during the visit. He toured various sections of the department, inspected the State Hydrological Data Centre, and reviewed detailed data on water levels across major dams in Odisha. CM Majhi also visited the chambers of several officials and conference halls in different wings of the building to observe day-to-day operations.

Focus on Water Resources and Irrigation Goals

After an extensive review of the state’s dams, river embankments, and water resource projects, the Chief Minister said Rajiv Bhawan would soon evolve into a smarter and more efficient office. He commended officials for their ongoing efforts but urged them to work in mission mode to meet the State Government’s goal of providing irrigation coverage to 15 lakh hectares of farmland within the stipulated timeframe.

Emphasis on Water Conservation and Sustainability

Highlighting the need for sustainable water management, CM Mohan Majhi directed the department to prioritise measures for enhanced water conservation across the state. He stressed that the judicious utilisation and preservation of water resources would be vital to achieving Odisha’s long-term development objectives.

The Chief Minister’s surprise visit underscored his government’s commitment to accountability, efficiency, and sustainable progress in key infrastructure and resource management sectors.
