Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi took a sharp dig on Monday at Congress following the PCC President’s allegation that “Bibhishanas” within the party caused its electoral defeat.

Speaking at the BJP’s thanksgiving meeting, CM Majhi said the statement of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) chief Bhakta Charan Das itself reveals the internal crisis of the Congress party.
The Chief Minister quipped that if Congress initiates any disciplinary action against these so-called “Bibhishanas”, the party would be left with almost no members, adding that nearly 70 per cent of the organisation falls into that category.
Intensifying his criticism, the CM further remarked, “Karma Tohara Nija Guru, Uddhaba Kete Tu Pacharu?”, continuing his attack on the Congress leadership.
As of now, no one from Congress has responded to the Chief Minister’s comments.
“PCC chief Bhakta Das said that those who are Bibhishanas within Congress and are involved in anti-party activities will not be spared. Such people must not be spared. No political party should ever spare the persons who act as Bibhishanas,” the CM stated.
“Accordingly, if Congress starts punishing its Bibhishanas and removes them from the party or even suspends them, it will become ‘Sunya’ (empty),” the CM expressed.
Worth mentioning, OPCC President Das said on Saturday that Congress will identify the ‘Bibhishanas’ and take disciplinary action against party workers who acted as ‘betrayers’ during the Nuapada Assembly bypoll, adding that a detailed review would examine the reasons behind the defeat of Congress.
The BJP on November 14 secured a decisive victory in the Nuapada Assembly bypoll, with party candidate Jay Dholakia defeating his nearest rival by 83,748 votes.
As per the final results, Dholakia polled 1,23,869 votes, emerging far ahead of his nearest contender, and Congress candidate Ghasi Ram Majhi, who finished second with 40,121 votes. Snehangini Chhuria of BJD secured 38,408 votes and finished third, but failed to make any significant impact on the electoral outcome.
