The annual Plus 2 examination conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) is set to commence across Odisha on Wednesday amid unprecedented security arrangements, including AI-enabled CCTV surveillance at question paper hubs.
According to sources, for the first time, the hubs are being monitored through AI cameras and CCTV systems, with direct control vested with the CHSE.
Officials said live streaming is being conducted from the moment question papers are collected from the hubs until they are opened at examination centres. The initiative aims to ensure a transparent, fair, and malpractice-free examination process. To strengthen oversight, 102 flying squads have been deployed across five levels.
Candidates have been advised to reach their respective centres by 9:30 am. This year, a total of 4,01,623 students are appearing for the Plus Two examinations, which will continue till March 28.
Meanwhile, the High School Certificate (Matric) examinations will begin on Thursday. As many as 5,61,979 students are set to appear at 3,082 examination centres across the state, with elaborate arrangements in place to ensure smooth conduct of the exams.
“Students have been asked to reach the examination centre by 9.30 am and occupy their seats by 9.45 am after necessary checking and verification. There will be live streaming of examinations at 1,364 centres, and AI technology is being used to monitor the question paper hubs,” said Prashant Kumar Parida, Controller of Examinations.
Amulya Kumar Pradhan, Vice-President of the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha (CHSE), said, “All nodal centres are under surveillance. During the entire examination period, the strong rooms where question papers are stored will be monitored. Immediate action will be taken if any irregularity is detected.”

“All necessary arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of the examination. There will be no irregularities,” said Nityananda Gond, School and Mass Education Minister.
