Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) extended the deadline for filling up forms by ex-regular students in Odisha for the Annual Higher Secondary Examination-2026. Originally, the last date for submission of filled-out forms was October 28.

According to official sources, due to the recent cyclone Montha, a large number of students across several colleges were unable to complete the form-filling process on time.
Following numerous appeals from affected colleges, the CHSE decided to grant an extension for form submission. The council cited the severe weather conditions as a valid reason for the delay and has assured that no student would face penalties for missing the previously fixed deadline. The revised deadline is November 3, 2025, the CHSE sources said.
This decision comes as a relief to thousands of students who faced connectivity issues and campus closures during the cyclone’s impact. Educational institutions have welcomed the CHSE’s response, describing it as a student-friendly move during a challenging time.
“In continuation of this office Notification No 3694, dated 06.10.2025, I am directed to inform you that in view of the dislocation caused due to ensuing cyclone ‘Montha’ and after careful consideration of request proposals received from a number of HS schools, it has been decided to extend the date of Form Fill-up and deposit of fees through SBI collect of Ex-Regular candidates without fine (Arts/Commerce/Science & Vocational streams including Correspondence Course) for the Annual Higher Secondary Exam, 2026 from 28.10.2025 to 03.11.2025,” a CHSE notification issued by the Controller of Examinations stated.
“Desirous candidates are therefore requested to fill up forms and deposit the fees through SB collect (Arts/Commerce/Science & Vocational streams, including Correspondence Course) as per the revised schedule without fine. All other dates notified earlier regarding form fill-up/enrolment with a fine of Rs 200 and Rs 600 remain unchanged,” the CHSE added.
