Regional Growth And Economic Ambitions

A major focus is expected on the Bhubaneswar–Cuttack–Puri–Paradip Economic Region (BCPPER). The Union Budget has already committed Rs 1,000 crore annually for five years, and the state government is likely to match this contribution. The aim is to transform BCPPER into a 500 billion dollars economic hub by 2047.

At present, the region’s economy is valued at 22 billion dollars, with projections suggesting growth to between 35 and 45 billion dollars by 2029, as reported by The Times Of India.

Welfare And Empowerment

Farmers’ welfare and women’s empowerment initiatives are anticipated to receive strong emphasis in the upcoming financial plan.

Employment And Industry Push

Job creation is expected to remain central, with policy measures likely across agriculture, MSMEs, tourism, technology, and renewable energy. Youth skilling programmes, designed to align education more closely with industry demand, are also expected to feature prominently.

Rural Development And Infrastructure

Rural priorities are likely to include widening irrigation coverage, enhancing water availability, encouraging crop diversification, and strengthening agro-processing and cold storage facilities.

Significant allocations are anticipated for education, with measures to improve schools and colleges, promote girls’ participation in STEM subjects, and expand vocational and technical training aligned with industry requirements.
