Responding to queries raised by legislators, Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister KV Singh Deo stated that the milestone of village-level electrification has been achieved, but certain individual homes remain outside the power network. He said distribution companies have been directed to conduct a comprehensive assessment to determine the exact number of such households.

According to the Minister, since 2024, as many as 35,741 households have received electricity connections. Mayurbhanj district has recorded the highest number of new connections at 3,636, reflecting focused efforts in tribal and remote regions.

Despite progress, gaps persist in select areas. In three blocks under the Bangiriposi Assembly segment in Mayurbhanj, 1,059 households are yet to be electrified. The government has initiated measures to fast-track coverage in these pockets.

Singh Deo, replying to BJP MLAs Padma Lochan Panda and Tankadhar Tripathy, said data from Tata Power-run DISCOMs indicate that 11,701 households under TPWODL, 9,954 under TPNODL, 7,769 under TPSODL, and 6,317 under TPCODL have been provided connections.

He further informed that eligible households would receive electricity under state schemes based on recommendations of District Electricity Committees, while tribal habitations would be covered under the PM-JANMAN programme.
