Odia music composer Abhijit Majumdar passes away in Bhubaneswar AIIMS

Odia music composer Abhijit Majumdar passed away at AIIMS Bhubaneswar on Sunday while undergoing treatment.

Majumdar was receiving prolonged medical care at the premier institute following a critical health episode late last year. He was admitted to the emergency department of AIIMS Bhubaneswar on September 4, 2025 in a critical condition and was placed on ventilator support due to the severity of his illness.

According to medical sources, the music composer was suffering from multiple health complications, including high blood pressure and chronic liver disease. Despite sustained treatment and close medical supervision, his condition remained fragile for several weeks.

On December 31, 2025, doctors at the hospital had indicated that Majumdar’s health had shown signs of improvement and that he was likely to be discharged within two days.

Abhijit Majumdar was a prominent figure in the Odia music industry and was widely known for his contribution to film music and independent compositions. His death has left admirers, fellow artistes and members of the entertainment fraternity in deep shock and grief.
