Odia couple sets Guinness record for journeying across India twice

Bhubaneswar: For this couple, age is just a number. Fighting against all odds, Odia couple Durga Charan Mishra and Jyotsna has made it to the Guinness Book after traveling the entire country not once but twice.

After going around the country in a car for which they booked a place in the Guinness World Records, they also covered the entire country one more time using public transport - bus and train.

Kicking off their journey on February 18, 2018, Durga Charan and Jyotsna traveled the entire length and breadth of the country from Odisha to Gujarat and from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in a record 40 days thereby beating the previous record held by a Romanian couple.

The couple had also made it to the Limca Book of Records for travelling the country on a bike.

“This time the journey was a bit harder since we had to completely depend on our energy and public transport. We travelled nearly 29,119 km during the entire journey. Had it not been for the blessings of the God and our parents, we would have never been able to achieve this feat,” said Jyotsna Mishra.
