The result of the Nuapada by-election is set to be announced on Friday, with all necessary preparations for the counting completed.
The counting will take place at Nuapada National College under a three-tier security arrangement. A total of 26 rounds of counting will be conducted, and arrangements have been made for 14 counting tables to cover 358 polling booths.
According to reports, ballot paper counting will commence at 8 am, followed by EVM vote counting 30 minutes later. Those involved in the counting process have been adequately trained, and security measures have been tightened to ensure a smooth and transparent procedure.
Record Turnout Of Over 83 Percent
The Nuapada by-election witnessed a voter turnout of over 83 percent, one of the highest recorded in the region. Political parties across the spectrum have expressed enthusiasm over the strong participation.
Local Factors Behind High Participation
Reports suggest that the high turnout was influenced by seasonal factors. After the Nuakhai festival, many residents of Nuapada usually migrate outside Odisha in search of employment.
