With the nomination process officially over, political heat has intensified in Nuapada as all three major parties BJP, BJD, and Congress have geared up for a fierce electoral battle.
The scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on October 22, while the last date for withdrawal of candidature is October 24.
As the stage is set for a triangular contest, each party has rolled out its independent campaign strategy to woo voters. The mood of the electorate remains the key focus for all sides.
Strategies Chalked Out By BJP, BJD & Congress So Far:
The BJP, determined to win the seat, has made development in its primary campaign agenda while the BJD is leaving no stone unturned to reclaim its ground.
The entry of Jay Dholakia into the BJP and his candidature has reportedly heightened pressure on the BJD.
On the other hand, Snehangini Chhuria, being an outsider to the district, faces the challenge of connecting with local voters, prompting the BJD’s top brass to throw its full weight behind her campaign in Nuapada.
Meanwhile, the Congress has sought to turn the narrative in its favour by claiming that both the BJP and BJD are working hand in hand, calling for a change in the political equation of the region.
While the official notification for the bypoll was issued on October 13, the last date to file nominations was October 20.
