As per reports, a massive rally was taken out as Jay made his way to file the nomination, with the BJP demonstrating its strength through a grand procession ahead of the election campaign.

"BJP party candidate Jay Dholakia filed his nomination. All the party workers are excited about it, and they are all working united. The people have made up their mind to make the BJP victorious in the Nuapada by-election. All-round development of Nuapada is the BJP's aim. The double-engine government will be able to accelerate the all-around development in the region. All the basic problems of the Nuapada Assembly constituency, like unemployment, migration, agriculture, irrigation, agriculture-based industries, and pisciculture, will be addressed. Comprehensive planning will be made on issues like- what are the industries to be set up here and how tourism will be given a boost, how employment could increase here as people are working as migrant workers in the district for eight months in a year and effort will be made to take this district forward with all-round development in the next three and half years," said Odisha BJP President Manmohan Samal.

"People in the constituency have made up their mind to make the BJP victorious here. They know that the BJP is governing both the state and at the centre, and this kind of opportunity has never come. They have seen the governance of Congress for 40 years in Odisha and 56 years in the centre. They have seen the governance of BJD for a long time, and the governance of the Janta Dal also. People have brought the BJP governance for the first time in 16 months. People need change, and it is only development. BJP's other name is development. We have fulfilled our promises. Rs 17,00,000 crore investment has come to Odisha. We have also tried to double the income of the farmers by purchasing paddy at Rs 2369 per quintal. Our workers are reaching people with all the benevolent schemes of the Centre. Everybody knows that there will be all-round development in the region by giving the BJP a chance in the by-election," he added.
