Bhubaneswar: Following the relaxation of the new Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act in the State till December 2019, the State Government has been envisaging its best to ensure that citizens are getting all possible facilities to acquire required documents before the new traffic norms once again come into force in Odisha.

Keeping this in view, the State Government has decided to add all the Regional Transport Offices (RTOs), Pollution Under Control (PUC) testing centres and driving testing units in the Google Map in order to help citizens locate them.

The State Transport Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda through a letter on Tuesday, directed all the Regional Transports Officers (RTOs), Assistant and Additional RTOs to issue instructions to all the PUC Centres operating in their jurisdiction to add their centres in Google Map so that a vehicle owner can easily find the nearest PUC Centre.

“After adding the location, the PUC Centres should claim that location on Google Map and mention the opening hours of business,” added the letter.

The Transport Commissioner has further asked the Deputy Transport Commissioner to ensure that all driving testing tracks are also added into Google Map for the ease of the citizens.

A few days after the new Motor Vehicle (Amendment) Act 2019 came into force, CM Naveen Patnaik on September 9 issued a directive for relaxations in the enforcement of new traffic rules for three months till December following State-wide outrage over hefty fines.
