Malkangiri: The Additional District Magistrate of Malkangiri Ajodhyakant Satpathy on Friday walked 1.5 km to reach office from his official residence due to non-availability of a government vehicle.

When asked, the ADM said, "The vehicle that was allotted to me during my stint as Project Director in-charge was taken away yesterday and as the other vehicle meant for me was lying defunct since long, I had to walk to office."

Sources said due to an on-going rift between the district collector and sub-collector, the ADM was yet to be provided with a government vehicle. The controversy between the two senior officers surfaced after eight BDOs were relieved of duties two days back.

Though the district collector termed the incident as unfortunate, he refused to comment on the issue on camera.
