The idols of Lord Jagannath and his sibling deities were once again seen being carried on a trolley in Odisha, inviting sharp reactions from devotees.

Most shockingly the incident has now come to the fore in the pilgrim city Puri and that too from near Srimandir, the abode of the God.

A video of the episode has gone viral on social media platforms triggering unrest among the masses.

The visuals of the incident show a man pulling a rickshaw trolley mounted with the idols of the Holy Trinity tied to each other.

Sources said the idols were carried along Singhadwar to Dolabedi corner in the town. Some passersby in the video were seen objecting to the act but to no avail.

As per reports, the idols were carried for presentation during a cultural programme at Bali Sahi.

A few months ago, a pick-up van loaded with tent-house materials was seen carrying the idol of Lord Jagannath.

The incident triggered a massive storm in all circles in Odisha. Jagannath devotees termed it an act of utter disrespect and hurt to faiths of millions.

After mass protests, the alleged tent house operator blamed for the incident apologised to the public.
