Following his arrest, Dwibendu was handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team from New Delhi for further interrogation. He is accused of being involved in large-scale financial fraud worth several crores of rupees in the national capital.

Dwibendu hails from the Cuttack district of Odisha. His arrest marks a significant success for the investigating agencies, which had been tracking his movements across multiple states.

The accused was involved in fake financial investment schemes. He had been evading arrest for the past several years. He had arrived at Bhubaneswar airport directly from Kuala Lumpur (the Capital City of Malaysia) when he was nabbed by the CISF personnel.

Previously, several raids were conducted on Dwibendu’s residence in Cuttack by the CBI team to arrest him, but to no avail. Allegedly, he has also duped some people by promising a job and others on the pretext of providing houses.

It is said, the total amount of fraud exceeds Rs 30 crore. So far, Delhi Police have arrested a few others in connection with the fraud, but Dwibendu was arrested today.

However, no comments were received from the CISF immigration team in this regard.
