Monday declared Diwali holiday for Odisha schools & colleges

Hours after the Odisha government declared a two-day holiday on October 20 and 21 for Diwali, the festival of lights, the School and Mass Education Department on Saturday declared a holiday for schools, colleges, Universities and other educational institutions on Monday.

All schools, colleges and educational institutions under the jurisdiction of the department are advised to observe this holiday and make necessary arrangements accordingly. Parents and guardians are requested to take note of the closure and ensure the safety and well-being of students during the holiday period.

Students and staff across educational institutions are advised to take note of the closure and plan accordingly. This holiday is granted to allow students and staff to participate in the traditional festivities associated with the festival.

Meanwhile, the Bhubaneswar administration also issued a notification today announcing that no firecrackers will be burst in the state capital after 9 pm, a revision from the usual 10 pm rule.
