Mohammed Moquim-Bijoy Mohapatra meet sparks buzz about new political party in Odisha

Political circles are abuzz about a new political party in Odisha after a meeting between senior leader Bijoy Mohapatra and former Congress leader Mohammed Moquim on Thursday evening. The meeting has sparked widespread speculation, especially against the backdrop of discussions about Moquim possibly floating a new political party after his expulsion from Congress.

Sources said the meeting has led to intense chatter that it could be linked to the formation of a new political outfit. However, both leaders have so far refrained from making any clear or official statement regarding the purpose of the meeting.

Meanwhile, Moquim opened up about his letter to Sonia Gandhi and expressed hope that the concerns raised by him would be properly examined. He further asserted that changes are expected soon in the Congress party in the coming six days.

Moquim said his letter has had an impact and expressed hope that the concerns raised by him would be properly examined.

“You have seen the impact of my letter. The actual results will be seen in the next six months. I’m confident that there will be lot many reforms. Now that I have been expelled, I’m discussing many things and will confirm my decision in time,” Moquim told mediapersons.

The former Congress leader added that he plans to visit various districts of the state to gauge public opinion. After completing these interactions, he said he would announce his future decision within a short period of time.
