A major robbery took place at a ration godown in Bhubaneswar’s Dhauli police limits. Thieves broke into the storage facility and looted cash and essential commodities worth over Rs 30 lakh, leaving the premises almost empty, informed sources. The incident has shocked local traders and residents in the area.

What Happened and Where

The theft occurred late last night at a ration godown located under Dhauli Police Station, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. According to reports, a gang of burglars entered the warehouse during the night, allegedly after breaking the locks. They reportedly stole Rs 7.5 lakh in cash and also carried away ration items worth around Rs 30 lakh, including rice, pulses, and sugar.

What Was Stolen

Among the stolen goods were over 300 boxes of edible oil, along with other essential food supplies meant for distribution under government welfare schemes. The thieves are suspected of having used a vehicle to transport the stolen items from the spot.

Police Investigation Underway

Upon discovering the theft early in the morning, the godown manager immediately alerted Dhauli Police, who rushed to the scene and began an investigation. Police are examining CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the culprits.
