A minor girl from the Baghamari police station area in Khordha district, who had been missing since November 19, was found admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in a critical condition under mysterious circumstances.
The girl was traced at Khordha DHH the very next day on Nov 20, raising serious questions about how she reached the hospital and who brought her there. According to sources, the attending doctor immediately alerted the Town Police after noticing her condition and arranged for her transfer to Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar when her health further deteriorated.
Hospital officials later confirmed that her condition is now stable after further treatment. However, the mystery surrounding the case has deepened as there is still no clarity on the identity of the person who admitted the unconscious minor to the DHH.
Meanwhile, the victim’s family has lodged a complaint alleging that the girl was kidnapped. Acting on the family’s suspicion, police have detained two individuals for questioning.
Khordha Police informed that a medical examination of the victim has been completed and the report is expected by this evening. Three separate teams have been formed to carry out a detailed investigation into the circumstances leading to her disappearance and subsequent hospitalisation.
