Security forces continue their search for Maoist leader Shukru, even as his family members and villagers anxiously wait for his return home. The residence of the Maoist leader is located in Kurub village under the Kalimela police station limits of Malkangiri district, where his family continues to live.

Naxal Since Three Decades

According to sources, Shukru has been associated with the Maoist organization for more than three decades. Over the years, he has reportedly remained active in Maoist activities and continues to operate with his team in the region. Security forces have intensified their efforts to track down Maoist operatives in the area as part of ongoing anti-Naxal operations.

Meanwhile, the state police have repeatedly appealed to Shukru to surrender and join the mainstream under the government’s surrender and rehabilitation policy. However, he has not yet responded to the appeal and remains involved in Maoist operations.

Family Urges To Give Up Arms

Back in his native village, Kurub, Shukru’s family still hopes he will eventually return home. His relatives and villagers have also urged him to give up violence and surrender to the authorities so that he can live a normal life with his family.

The emotional appeal from his family has added a human dimension to the ongoing security operation in the region.
