The joint search operation involved personnel from Chhattisgarh Police’s E-30 unit, COBRA Battalion 207, 16th Battalion CAF, and CRPF’s 65th Battalion. The operation was carried out as part of intensified efforts to curb Maoist activities in the border regions of Odisha and neighbouring Chhattisgarh.

Authorities believe the seizure has dealt a significant blow to Maoist networks operating in the region. Further investigation is underway to trace the origin of the seized materials and assess the extent of Maoist presence in the region.

However, no comments were received from the raid team in this regard.

Worth mentioning, earlier in another incident, security forces had busted a Maoist camp and seized a large cache of explosives from the hideout located inside forest along the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border on December 7.

Acting on intelligence input about a Maoist hideout, a joint operation by the Border Security Force (BSF) and District Reserve Guard (DRG) personnel had led to major bust from within the dense Sonpur-Kohka Meta forest of Narayanpur district in Chhattisgarh.
