Man dies of heart attack while driving, narrow escape for mother & daughter seated in back seat

A man died of a suspected heart attack while driving his car, narrowly saving the lives of a woman and her minor daughter seated in the back seat. The shocking incident has been reported from Sambalpur's Kuchinda.

According to reports, the woman, a resident of the Katarbaga area, had travelled to Kuchinda earlier in the day to bring back her daughter, who studies in a residential school there. The girl had reportedly fallen ill, prompting her mother to personally bring her home in her own car, accompanied by her driver.

On their return journey, as the car was passing through the weekly market road near Kuchinda old bus stand, the driver suddenly complained of severe chest pain. Within moments, he collapsed on the driver’s seat, losing control of the vehicle. Fortunately, the car came to a halt without causing any major accident.

Alert local residents immediately rushed to the spot, turned off the car engine, and safely rescued the woman and her daughter. However, the driver had already succumbed by the time help arrived.

The deceased has been identified as Shrikant Nag of Katarbaga. Police reached the scene shortly after the incident, seized the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. A case of unnatural death has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
