Man attacks wife, in-laws with knife in Cuttack; 3 injured

A violent family dispute turned tragic at Shishua village under Banki police limits in Cuttack, where a man brutally attacked his wife and in-laws inside their home. 

The accused, reportedly angered after his wife refused to return with him, resorted to violence, leaving three people critically injured.

What Led to the Attack?

According to reports, the man reached his in-laws’ house on Monday evening and began arguing with his wife, Pushpa Das, demanding that she accompany him back. 

When she refused, he allegedly took out a sharp knife and attacked her in a fit of rage, causing severe bleeding injuries. Her parents rushed to intervene, but the enraged son-in-law attacked them as well, leaving all three wounded.

Rescued & Shifted to Hospital

Local residents rushed to the spot, rescued them and immediately shifted the injured to Banki Sub-Divisional Hospital. 

Later, Pushpa, who sustained grievous injuries, was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for advanced treatment.

Police arrived at the scene soon after receiving information and have launched a probe into the incident. 

The incident has sent shockwaves across the village, with locals demanding strict action against the culprit.
