Keonjhar: In a first major loot during COVID-19 lockdown, armed miscreants decamped with over Rs 8 lakh after attacking an employee of a company engaged in transportation of minerals in Keonjhar district.

As per reports, miscreants intercepted two staff of the company when they were reportedly travelling on a two-wheeler near Thakurdihi under Sadar police limits on Saturday.

After attacking one of the staff with a sharp weapon, the miscreants looted the cash and decamped on a bike after firing one round of bullet. The injured staff has been admitted to a nearby hospital.

Sources said the two employees were returning after withdrawing money from IDBI bank.
