An LPG cylinder-laden truck caught fire near the Hariharjor bridge on the Subalaya–Birmaharajpur road in Odisha's Sonepur district on Sunday. The vehicle, carrying gas cylinders from a company depot to the Birmaharajpur gas point, reportedly caught fire following an engine malfunction. The incident led to a temporary disruption of vehicular movement along the route.

As per reports, upon receiving information, three fire tenders from the Birmaharajpur Fire Station reached the spot and managed to bring the blaze under control. Their swift action prevented a possible explosion and further damage, as the truck was fully loaded with gas cylinders.

Driver Escapes Unhurt

Sources said that the driver noticed smoke coming from the engine and immediately stopped the vehicle, moving to safety before the fire spread. No injuries or casualties were reported in connection with the incident.

Investigation Underway

Traffic movement on the Subalaya–Birmaharajpur road resumed shortly after the flames were extinguished. Fire department officials have initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the fire, reportedly.
