After ten years of standing by each other through differences and resistance, Farheen Bano and Badrinarayan Das finally solemnised their marriage in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday, a union that reflects their belief that love rises above barriers of religion and community.
Farheen, who embraced Hinduism ahead of the ceremony and now goes by the name Priyanshi, married Badrinarayan at the Bhimeswar Mangala Temple in the presence of close friends.
A Decade of Commitment
The couple, who had been in a relationship for the past ten years, belonged to different religious communities. While they remained committed to one another, the path to marriage was not without challenges.
Initially, Badrinarayan’s family opposed the alliance due to differences in community background. However, the couple chose patience over pressure and continued to stand firm in their decision to build a life together.
Ceremony Marked by Support
The wedding ceremony was organised with the support of members of a local group, who assisted in coordinating the temple rituals. Friends attended the solemn occasion as the couple exchanged vows.
Following the marriage, Badrinarayan’s parents have now accepted the union, marking a significant shift from their earlier reservations.
For the couple, the wedding represents not just a formal union, but the culmination of a decade-long journey shaped by resilience, mutual respect and belief in togetherness beyond social divides.
