Liquor shop manager attacked and robbed on National Highway 16 in Balasore

A liquor shop manager was brutally attacked and robbed while returning home after closing the shop. The incident occurred late Sunday night on Station Road under Balasore's Khantapada police jurisdiction, along National Highway 16.

A liquor shop manager was brutally attacked and robbed while returning home after closing the shop. The incident occurred late Sunday night on Station Road under Balasore's Khantapada police jurisdiction, along National Highway 16.

According to reports, miscreants on a Pulsar bike attacked the manager with a sharp weapon, targeting his hand and waist, before fleeing with Rs 1,30,000, a gold chain, and a mobile phone. Following the attack, the manager managed to reach the nearby market area, where local residents came to his aid and helped him to seek medical attention.

He was first admitted to Khantapada Medical, but was shifted to Balasore Fakir Mohan Medical College for further treatment as his condition worsened. The critically injured victim has been identified as Puneshwar Kumar from Olihapatana village.

Khantapada Police officials have launched an inquiry into the incident and are questioning the manager to determine whether he knew any of the assailants. 

Local residents’ quick intervention played a crucial role in saving Kumar’s life, highlighting community vigilance amid rising concerns over public safety.
