Koraput wakes up to foggy mornings as winter chill sets in

The first spell of winter has blanketed Koraput district in a dense, ethereal layer of fog, transforming the region into a picturesque winter wonderland. As the cold season sets in, residents are making the most of the mild chill, stepping out for morning walks, yoga, and exercise.

The fog has added a magical touch to Koraput’s natural beauty. Roads, trees, houses, and fields are all cloaked in a surreal white mist, giving the district a dreamy, almost otherworldly appearance. The Narayanpatna area, in particular, has become a visual spectacle, with fog-laden landscapes that sharply reduce visibility during the early hours of the day. Locals see this thick fog as a clear sign that the winter season has firmly arrived.

One of the locals said, “The weather is slightly chilly, and the fog is so dense that it’s hard to even make out people’s faces. Despite this, many are out doing their morning walks, and the weather feels wonderful.”

Another resident added, “Everyone is enjoying the winter charm, but transport has been disrupted, especially during the early morning hours, due to the thick fog.”

With temperatures expected to drop further over the coming weeks, Koraput’s residents are gearing up for the full swing of winter, embracing both the beauty and the challenges that the season brings.
