KISS student death: Political outrage as BJD demands serious action, BJP assures probe

Concerns continue to mount over the death of a tribal student under suspicious circumstances at the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), with the incident triggering widespread public outrage and political reactions. 

Family members of the Class IX student have alleged murder, concealment of facts, and procedural lapses. The matter has now escalated into the political arena, with leaders across parties expressing concern and calling for a thorough probe.

The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has demanded that the state government treat the incident with utmost seriousness and ensure a transparent investigation to bring out the truth. The party stressed that such incidents raise serious questions about student safety and institutional accountability.

“This incident should be seen with utmost seriousness so that no such incidents happen again. It is the responsibility of everyone, starting from the authorities to the government,” stated BJD MLA Sarada Jena.

Responding to the criticism, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stated that the government is fully aware of the situation. BJP leaders assured that the incident is being closely monitored and that necessary action will be taken after a detailed inquiry.

“This indeed calls for more responsibility and accountability on the part of authorities. Our government is determined to take action in such cases,” stated BJP MLA Ashok Mohanty.

Meanwhile, the student’s family members demanded justice in the case, as authorities continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the student’s death.
