Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda leads by example, promotes social harmony through community outreach

In a significant gesture aimed at promoting social harmony and addressing concerns over alleged caste-based discrimination, BJP National Vice President and Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda visited the Nuagaon Anganwadi Centre under Gadiamal Gram Panchayat in Rajnagar on Sunday.

During his visit, Panda joined villagers for a community meal at the Anganwadi centre, sending out a strong message of unity and equality. The programme witnessed the presence of several local leaders, including District President Shashank Sethi, Sanjay Rath, Kishore Panda, Legislative Assembly candidate Lalit Behera, State Women’s Commission member Kalpana Mallik, and former MP Archana Nayak. More than a hundred villagers participated in the gathering.

The MP interacted with locals and enquired about the food preparation and distribution process at the Anganwadi centre. Villagers categorically stated that there was no practice of caste-based discrimination or untouchability in their village. They maintained that Rajnagar has always upheld communal harmony, with people from all communities living together peacefully.

Sarmistha Sethi, an Anganwadi helper, said that rice, dal, khatta and vegetable fritters were prepared for the occasion. “The MP ate the meal and appreciated the food. It was served by me and my sister,” she said.

The visit highlighted the collective resolve of the villagers to uphold social equality and reinforced the message that unity and mutual respect remains the cornerstone of Rajnagar’s social fabric.
