Kendrapara BJP leader's SUV gutted in fire; foul play suspected

A newly purchased SUV was gutted in a fire outside a residential house in the Gualsingh area under Kendrapara Sadar police station limits on Thursday night, reducing the vehicle to ashes and triggering concern among local residents.

The vehicle reportedly belongs to local BJP leader Geetanjali Sethi. Apart from the four-wheeler, parts of the house were also damaged in the incident, with household furniture and window panes affected by the flames. The exact extent of the damage to the property is yet to be officially assessed.

According to available information, the fire broke out late at night while the vehicle was parked in front of the house. By the time the flames were noticed, the four-wheeler had already been engulfed, leaving little scope for immediate intervention.

Allegations of Arson

Preliminary allegations suggest that miscreants may have set the vehicle on fire. However, the exact cause of the fire has not been established so far, and authorities are yet to confirm whether the incident was an act of arson.

Police have been informed and are expected to initiate an investigation into the incident to ascertain the cause of the fire.
