Jawan found dead under mysterious circumstances in Odisha

A shocking incident has come to light from the Sunabeda Wildlife Sanctuary under Komna Police Station limits in Nuapada district, where the blood-soaked body of a jawan was recovered on Friday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Gopinath Sabar, a resident of Ghardhara village under Kharial police limits in Nuapada district.

According to reports, Gopinath was posted at the Dhekunpani–216 CRPF camp, located inside the dense forest area of the Sunabeda Sanctuary. The area is known for its difficult terrain and sensitive security environment, as jawans frequently patrol the region to prevent anti-social activities.

Sources said that his body was found in a pool of blood within the camp premises. Preliminary investigation suggests that the jawan may have shot himself with his service weapon. However, the exact cause of death is yet to be confirmed.

Upon receiving information, Komna Police reached the spot, seized the body and sent it to Nuapada District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for post-mortem examination. Police officials stated that further investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, the CRPF authorities have not issued any formal statement on the incident. The reason behind the alleged suicide remains unclear, and questions are being raised about whether the jawan was under stress or if there were other factors involved.

The sudden death of the young jawan has created a wave of grief in his native village, where family members are struggling to come to terms with the tragedy. Authorities are expected to release more details after the post-mortem and internal inquiry reports.
