Preliminary observations have pointed to lapses in cleanliness and sanitation at the school premises. In view of this, a special health team from Gondia is scheduled to visit the school on Tuesday for a detailed inspection.

Earlier in the day, a health team from Barapada visited the school to assess the situation and review preventive measures.

Meanwhile, the Additional District Education Officer of Gondia has launched an inquiry into the incident and is examining whether administrative or hygiene-related shortcomings contributed to the situation.

Authorities have assured that necessary steps will be taken to prevent the spread of infection and to ensure the safety and well-being of students.

“We had the test report of only a girl and have submitted it to the Collector. Our team has already visited the school. There seems to be nothing to be scared of. However, we will send the team again. Toilets in the school are in an unhygienic condition,” Dhenkanal CDMO, Dr Sanjay Kumar Mohapatra, said to OTV when contacted.

Worth mentioning, the health authorities on Saturday had launched a detailed investigation following reports of a jaundice outbreak in Nua Dokanda village under Kanas block of Puri district.

The incident came to light after several residents reportedly exhibited symptoms associated with jaundice, prompting immediate action from the Health Department.
