The increased dolphin activity is being attributed to the absence of fishing boat operations on Thursdays. With boats not venturing into the sea, the waters remained calm and undisturbed, creating an ideal environment for the marine mammals to surface and glide freely.

A Mesmerising Marine Display

The vast expanse of the sea turned captivating as dolphins arched and dived in rhythmic motion. Their graceful leaps against the tranquil backdrop added to the natural charm of the Puri coastline, drawing the attention of visitors and locals alike.

Calm Waters, Greater Movement

The quieter marine setting appeared to encourage dolphins to venture closer to the shore. Such sightings highlight the region’s rich biodiversity and thriving aquatic ecosystem.

This is not the first such occurrence in recent days. On February 11, several dolphins were spotted swimming along the Puri coastline, attracting crowds and sparking curiosity among beachgoers. Eyewitnesses reported seeing four to five dolphins surfacing repeatedly before heading towards the Chandrabhaga side.

Together, these sightings serve as a heartening reminder of the abundant marine life flourishing along Odisha’s coast.
