Intense cold to continue until next week; IMD issues yellow warning for six districts in Odisha

Bone-chilling cold conditions continue to prevail across Odisha, leaving residents severely affected on Saturday. The intense cold wave has disrupted normal life, with people struggling both indoors and outdoors as freezing temperatures make day-to-day activities difficult. 

The biting cold has led to widespread discomfort, forcing citizens to battle harsh weather conditions throughout the day and night.

According to India Meteorological Department, there is little hope of relief from the cold in the coming days. The prevailing dry weather conditions are expected to persist, and the cold spell is likely to continue at least until next week. The Meteorological Department has indicated that the situation will remain largely unchanged in the immediate future.

The unusually severe winter has seen temperatures plunge to extreme levels, with biting cold affecting major cities, including the Twin Cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

In view of the prevailing conditions, yellow warning has been issued for six districts till tomorrow. These districts include Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Khordha, and Angul. Residents in these areas have been advised to remain cautious and take necessary precautions to protect themselves from the severe cold.

Furthermore, the Meteorological Department has predicted no rainfall until the 16th of this month. The weather is expected to remain dry, which may further intensify the cold conditions, especially during the night and early morning hours.
